Reading Man ID'd As Pennsylvania Turnpike Crash Victim: Coroner

The man killed in a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lancaster County on Saturday, Nov. 5 has been identified, authorities say.

The crash involving a pickup truck and a car happened in the eastbound lanes of the turnpike in Elizabeth Township around noon, police and the coroner stated in releases. 

75-year-old Lawrence Adams of Reading was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Lancaster County coroner's office. 

The sedan rear-ended the truck, causing the sedan to hit a concrete barrier, according to Pennsylvania state police. 

The truck rolled over "an unknown number of times," state police say.

Adams was transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center for further examination. The cause and manner of death are currently pending.

The driver of the sedan was unharmed, according to the police. 

No charges have been filed as of Monday, Nov. 7.
